IDA INEZ SMITH

Ida Inez Smith passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 in Katy, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Almer Douglas Smith, her son; David Arnold Smith and her siblings; Jack, Leona, Bill, Henry, Leola, Nadene. She is survived by her son Richard Smith, granddaughters Rebekah Mae Smith and Regan Elizabeth Smith; and great granddaughter Annabelle Kneale; her son A.J. Smith and grandchildren Kayla, James, Victoria, Laura, and Jesse. Inez Smith and her family moved to the Sweetwater, Tx. area in the 1940s. Here she was to meet and marry Almer Douglas Smith and raise their three sons. Almer passed away in 1975 leaving Inez to finish raising their three sons. She worked day care and volunteered at First Baptist Church until 2005. In that year she moved to a senior apartment complex in Sealy, Tx. where she made many new friends and found a new church home in Sealy’s First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 3, 2021 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Norton officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
