Roscoe girls top W’brook for 5th straight victory

Roscoe picked up its fifth straight win Tuesday as the Plowgirls improved to 5-1 with a 52-45 road victory at Westbrook.

Carson Greenwood had 16 points while Shauna McCambridge had 12 points and was her usual ferocious presence on defense with 14 rebounds and five blocks. Cameron Greenwood had seven points, Kirsten Welch five, Jacey Rodriguez and Kaidy Ornelas four, Mia Lavalais three and Bailegh Deolloz one.

Class 2A Roscoe held slim leads at 15-13, 28-25 and 42-39 at the quarter breaks against Westbrook, which is ranked No. 11 in Class 1A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

The Plowgirls will play at the Highland tournament today through Saturday as will Roscoe’s boys, who are just now starting their season due to the success of the 2021 football team.
