Sweetwater Police Department welcomes third K9

SWEETWATER – The Sweetwater Police Department is pleased to announce the arrival of K9 Dasha. Dasha is a 2-year-old Labrador from Mexico who specializes in narcotic searches. Handler

Traven Berrie and Dasha trained together for three weeks at Hill Country Dog Center in Pipe Creek, Texas. District Attorney Ricky Thompson donated funds to the Sweetwater Police Department to purchase Dasha and the required training.

Corporal Berrie has five years of experience as a K9 handler. His previous K9, Stalin, served the Sweetwater Police Department for five years before passing away on February 14, 2022.

Dasha began her duties with the Sweetwater Police Department on August 15.
